Human between the images of an angel… and the devil

 

It is said that an Italian ruler invited a famous visual artist and ordered him to paint two different and contradictory pictures at the door of the largest spiritual center in the country.

  He ordered him to draw pictures of an angel

And he draws a picture opposite it

  In which Satan observes the difference between virtue and vice

So the painter searched for a source to draw inspiration from for the pictures. And he found an innocent and beautiful child, with tranquility emerging from his round white face and his eyes drowning in a sea of happiness.

He went with him to his family and asked for permission to draw inspiration for his angel pictures by having the child sit in front of him every day until he finished that drawing, in exchange for a sum of money and after a month.

The drawing became ready and dazzled people. It was a copy of the child’s face, and no more beautiful painting was drawn at that time

The painter began searching for someone to draw inspiration from the face of the devil, and the man was serious about the subject, so he searched a lot and his search lasted for more than forty years.

  The ruler became afraid that the painter would die before completing the historical masterpiece

Therefore, a grand prize was announced that would be awarded to the most terrifying faces. The artist visited prisons, psychiatric clinics, bars, and places of criminals, but they were all human, not devils.

One time, the artist suddenly found the Devil! He was a bad man swallowing a glass of wine in a narrow corner inside a dirty bar.

  The painter approached him and talked to him about the subject…and promised to give him a huge sum of money.

The man agreed, and he was ugly-looking, smelly, bald, and had hairs growing in the middle of his head as if they were the heads of devils!

He was soulless and did not care about anything. He spoke in a loud voice and his mouth was devoid of teeth. The ruler was happy with him because finding him would enable the completion of his precious masterpiece. The painter sat in front of the man and began drawing his features, adding to them the features of (Satan!)(The Devil )

One day, the artist turned to the devil sitting in front of him, and a tear rolled down his cheek. He was surprised by the matter

He asked him if he wanted to smoke or drink alcohol?

  He answered him in a voice close to choking tears, “You, sir, visited me more than forty years ago when I was a young child and were inspired by the image of angels in my face, and today you are inspired by the image of Satan. The days and nights have changed me until I have become the opposite of myself! Because of my actions…

Tears burst from his eyes, and he threw himself on the artist’s shoulder, and they sat together, crying in front of his picture of the angel. Comment: God ( Allah )  created us all like angels, but we are different and we distort ourselves because of our sins.
