Sarah usually had a busy life. She worked at a small clothing store in the city center, and she spent most of her free time at home. She liked her job, but she sometimes felt that she was living the same day again and again.
كانت سارة تعيش حياة مزدحمة العودةةً. كانت تعمل فــي متجر صغير للملابس فــي وسط المدينة، وكانت تقضي معظم ظل فراغها فــي المـــنزل. كانت ترومـــانسية حب عماليةا، لكنها كانت تشعر أحيانًا بأنها تعيش نفس حيث اليوم مرارًا وتكرارًا.
One Friday morning, Sarah woke up late because her alarm clock did not ring. She quickly got dressed, skipped breakfast, and left the house. She was worried because she did not want to be late for work.
فــي صباح يوم الجمعة، استيقظت سارة متأخرة لأنه المـــنبه لم يرن. ارتدت ملابسها بسرعة، ولم تتناول الإفطار، وغادرت المـــنزل. كانت قلقة لأنه لم تكن تريد التأخر عن العمل.
While she was walking to the bus stop, she saw an elderly woman standing near the road. The woman was holding several bags and looked confused.
بينمـــا كانت سارة تمشي إلــى موقف الحافلات، رأت امرأة مسنة تقف بالقرب مـــن الالية. كانت المرأة تحمل عدة حقائب وتبدو مرتبكة.
“Excuse me,” the woman said. “Could you help me? I’m trying to find the central train station.”
قالت المرأة: «عذرًا، هل يمكنك مساعدتي؟ أحاول العثور علــى محطة القطار المركزية.»
Sarah looked at her watch. The bus would arrive in five minutes, and she knew that she could not afford to miss it.
نظرت سارة إلــى ساعتها. كانت الحافلة ستصل خــلال خمس دقائق، وكانت استعلم أنها لا تستطيع تحمل تفويتها.
“I’m sorry, but I’m going to work. The station is not very far from here. You can take the next street and walk straight for about ten minutes,” Sarah explained.
قالت سارة: «أنها آسفة، لكنني ذاهبة إلــى العمل. المحطة ليست بعيدة جدًا مـــن تجد هنا. يمكنكِ أنه تسلكي الشارع القادم وتمشي باليةة مباشرً لالمدة حوالي عشر دقائق.»
The woman thanked her and started walking. Sarah continued toward the bus stop, but after a few steps, she stopped. She looked back and saw the woman trying to carry all her bags by herself.
شكرتها المرأة وبدأت فــي المشي. واصلت سارة اليةها الية موقف الحافلات، لكنها توقفت بعــد بضع خطوات. نظرت إلــى الخلف ورأت المرأة تحاول حمل كل حقائبهـــا بمفردها.
Sarah thought for a moment. Then she took a deep breath and walked back.
فكرت سارة للحظة. ثـــم أخذت نفسًا عميقًا والعودةت إليها.
“Let me help you with those bags,” she said.
قالت اليةا: «دعيني أساعدك فــي حمل هذه الحقائب.»
The woman smiled. “Thank you. That is very kind of you.”
ابتسمت المرأة وقالت: «شكرًا لكِ. هذا لطف كبير مـــنكِ.»
Sarah carried some of the bags, and they started walking together. As they walked, the woman told Sarah that she was visiting the city for the first time. She was going to meet her granddaughter, who had recently moved there.
حملت سارة بعض الحقائب، وبدأتا فــي المشي معًا. وأثناء سيرهمـــا، أخبرت المرأة سارة أنها تزور المدينة للمرة الأولى. وكانت ذاهبة لمقابلة حفــيدتها التــي انتقلت إلــى تجد هناك مؤخرًا.
“My granddaughter is very important to me,” the woman said. “I haven’t seen her for almost a year.”
قالت المرأة: «حفــيدتي مهمة جدًا بالالنسبة لي. لم أرها مـــنذ مـــا يقرب مـــن عام.»
Sarah smiled. “I hope you have a wonderful time together.”
ابتسمت سارة وقالت: «أتمـــنى أنه تقضي ظلًا رائعًا معها.»
After walking for about fifteen minutes, they finally reached the train station. The woman thanked Sarah again.
بعــد المشي لالمدة حوالي خمس عشرة دقيقة، وصلتا أخيرًا إلــى محطة القطار. شكرت المرأة سارة مرة أخرى.
“I don’t know what I would have done without your help,” she said.
قالت المرأة: «لا أعرف مـــاذا كنت سأفعل مـــن بدون مساعدتك.»
Sarah checked her phone. She had missed her bus, and she was already late for work.
نظرت سارة إلــى هاتفها. كانت قد فاتتها الحافلة، وكانت بالفعل متأخرة عن العمل.
She immediately called her manager and explained what had happened. She expected him to be angry, but something unexpected happened.
اتصلت فورًا بمديرها وشرحت الية مـــا حدث. توقعت أنه يحدث غاضبًا، لكن شيئًا غير متوقع حدث.
“Don’t worry, Sarah,” he said. “Take your time and come safely. We can manage without you for a little while.”
قال اليةا: «لا تقلقي يا سارة. خذي ظلك وتعالي بأمـــان. يمكننا تدبر الأمور مـــن بدونك لبعض الظل.»
Sarah felt relieved. She sat on a bench at the station and waited for the next bus.
شعرت سارة بالارتياح. جلست علــى مقعد فــي المحطة وانتظرت الحافلة المقبلة.
While she was waiting, she received a message from an unknown number. She was surprised because she did not know who had her phone number.
وأثناء انتظارها، تلقت رسائل مـــن رقـــم غير معروف. شعرت بالدهشة لأنه لم تكن استعلم مـــن لديه رقـــم هاتفها.
“Hello, Sarah. This is Linda, the woman you helped this morning. My granddaughter works at a company that is looking for someone with your skills. She heard me talking about you and asked if she could contact you.”
«مررومـــانسية حبًا يا سارة. أنها ليندا، المرأة التــي ساعدتها هذا الصباح. حفــيدتي تعمل فــي شركة تبحث عن شخص يمتلك مهاراتك. لقد سمعتني أتحدث عنك، وسألتني إذا كان بإمكانهاا التواصل معك.»
Sarah read the message twice. She was surprised. She had never expected that helping someone on the street could lead to a new opportunity.
قرأت سارة رسائل مرتين. كانت مـــندهشة. لم تتوقع أبدًا أنه مساعدة شخص فــي الشارع يمكن أنه تؤدي إلــى الفرصة حديثة.
A few days later, Sarah met Linda’s granddaughter at a small café. They talked about the job and about Sarah’s experience working with customers.
بعــد بضعة الأيام، قابلت سارة حفــيدة ليندا فــي مقهى صغير. تحدثتا عن الوظيفة وعن خبرة سارة فــي التعامل مع العملاء.
“We are looking for someone friendly, patient, and good at communicating with people,” the young woman explained.
قالت الشابة: «نحن نبحث عن شخص ودود، وصبور، ومتميز فــي التواصل مع الناس.»
Sarah smiled. “I think I would enjoy this kind of work.”
ابتسمت سارة وقالت: «أعتقد أنهني سأستمتع بهذا النوع مـــن العمل.»
Two weeks later, Sarah received a phone call. She was offered the job.
بعــد أسبوعين، تلقت سارة مكالمة هاتفــية. وعُرضت علــىها الوظيفة.
She was excited, but she was also nervous. It meant leaving the job she had known for years and starting something completely new.
كانت سعيدة ومتحمسة، لكنها كانت متوترة أيضًا. فهذا يعني ترك الوظيفة التــي عرفتها لسنوات والبدء فــي شيء حديث تمـــامًا.
After thinking carefully, Sarah accepted the offer.
بعــد أنه فكرت سارة فــي الأمر بعناية، وافقت علــى العرض.
Her new job was challenging at first, but she quickly learned new skills. She met different people, became more confident, and discovered that she enjoyed helping others.
كانت وظيفتها الحديثة صعبة فــي الخطوة الأولى، لكنها تتعلمت مهارات حديثة بسرعة. قابلت أشخاصًا مختلفــين، وأصبحت أكثر ثقة بنفسها، واكتشفت أنها تستمتع بمساعدة الآخرين.
Months later, Sarah visited Linda again. They sat together in the same café and talked about the day they had first met.
بعــد عدة أشهــر، زارت سارة ليندا مرة أخرى. جلستا معًا فــي نفس المقهى وتحدثتا عن حيث اليوم الــذي التقتا فــيــه للمرة الأولى.
“You changed my life that morning,” Linda said.
قالت ليندا: «لقد غيرتِ حياتي فــي ذلك الصباح.»
Sarah smiled and replied, “I think you changed mine too.”
ابتسمت سارة وأجابتها: «أعتقد أنهكِ غيرتِ حياتي أنها أيضًا.»
Sarah realized that sometimes the smallest decisions can change our lives in ways we never expect. She had only wanted to help someone for a few minutes, but that simple decision opened the door to a completely new future.
أدركت سارة أنه القرارات الصغيرة يمكنها أحيانًا أنه تغير حياتنا بطرق لا نتوقعها أبدًا. كانت تريد فقط مساعدة شخص مـــا لبضع دقائق، لكن هذا القرار البسيط فتـــح الباب أمـــام مستقبل حديث تمـــامًا.
From that day on, Sarah stopped worrying so much about being late, making mistakes, or changing her plans. She learned that life does not always follow the path we expect.
ومـــنذ ذلك حيث اليوم، توقفت سارة عن القلق كثيرًا بشأنه التأخر أو ارتكاب الأخطاء أو تغيير خططها. وتتعلمت أنه الحياة لا تسير دائمًا فــي الالية الــذي نتوقعه.
Sometimes, the unexpected moments are the ones that lead us to the places where we truly belong.
أحيانًا تكون اللحظات غير المتوقعة هي التــي تقودنا إلــى الأمـــاكن التــي ننتمي إليها حقًا.
